My name is Tina and I am so excited you’re here!

I consider myself a true Bavarican: a German-American dual citizen – born and raised in Bavaria. I’m also a former ESL and German Language Arts teacher, as well as a freelance translator.

I am fickle with where to settle, so I’ve been doing what every mature person would do: moving back and forth between the US and Germany several times, constantly being homesick for the other country. I either miss German Christmas markets or tacky American Christmas lights.

Or maybe I just really like Christmas.

I know how testing it can be to adjust as an expat. Even doing the simplest things – like grocery shopping – can be daunting at first. Especially for overthinkers, like me.

I’m on a mission to help you adapt to everyday life in Germany, so you can focus on creating memories, instead of fretting about why the natives are gawking at you, or what to expect at your first visit to a German gynecologist. Spoiler: the chair’s the same!

Feel free to get in touch if there is anything about this country I can help clarify in one of my upcoming posts.

We got this! And if not, I am here to help!
